The RHODUCER
In order to improve employee protection against vibration loads, Rhodius has developed a low-cost model that reduces vibrations by up to 30%. This could be proven following extensive measurements in cooperation with the IBE and the Network for Ergonomics. The Rhoducer is a special flange that can reduce the occurring vibrations with an absorbent elastomer coating by decoupling the tool from the machine, Figure 4.

In the tests which were performed it could be clearly shown that the user has a great influence over the resulting vibrations, Figure 4. This is true of both the absorption that is achieved and the absolute vibration load that occurs. It is hard to make any general statements, even with very strict marginal conditions (same machine, same workpiece, same clamping, approximately the same unbalanced masses and the same running behaviour of the grinding disc), as these tests showed.
